All Are Called
God does not have just one true church or religion or people. God does not call some individuals in preference to others. Rather, God graciously gives everyone gifts and opportunities to do good.
As a church community, we believe that we have been given our own special calling that is vital and meaningful, and we endeavour to share this calling with all the world.
As our denomination has spread around the world, we have brought individuals with different backgrounds, perspectives, languages, talents, and insights into our sacred community. This process yields ongoing growth and transformation.
When individuals join our community through the sacraments of baptism and confirmation, they are accepting a call to discipleship.
Disciples may receive further special callings as lay ministers in the church, for example, through ordination to priesthood. In our tradition, there are a number of different priesthood offices, whereby individuals can live out servanthood ministry on behalf of the community.
All Voices is an expression of this principle: All Are Called as we discern together what matters most for the journey ahead.
